A Few Face Care Cleansing Tips Everyone Should Know

by Frelli Subar

Do you wear make up everyday like I do? Then, it's important that you have a good regime of cleansing, toning and moisturizing your face skin two times a day, or at least, every evening. Why is this important? Simple. It's to keep your face - the only one that you've got - young and healthy looking.

Make cleansing your face part of the same routine as brushing your teeth. Cleansing everyday not only helps to keep the wrinkles from showing up too early, but you'll end up with skin that people notice - soft and glowing. Who doesn't want that?

One of the most important face care cleansing tips I can give you is to understand the benefits of regular cleansing. Cleaning your facial skin at least every night, will remove the day's dirt, grime and makeup that accumulates on your skin and face throughout the day. Even touching your face with your hands puts dirt on it. The air we breathe and walk in every day is unfortunately, loaded with grime and toxins. This all builds up on your skin.

First thing to do is to pull your hair back off your face so that when you cleanse, you can get your facial skin cleaned all the way up to your hairline. Dirt really loves to dig in and stay put around your hairline. You might not see the dirt, but trust me, it's there.

Second, take off your eye makeup and mascara. You need to do this gently to avoid stretching the skin around your eyes. This is something I think we are all guilty of! I know I have been. The skin under and around your eyes is much more delicate than the rest of your facial skin. And stretching it or rubbing it too hard can cause damage (wrinkles).

You are going to get wrinkles regardless - so why make the process faster by not being careful when you cleanse around your eyes? Use a cotton ball or cotton pad soaked with your favorite eye makeup remover and gently wipe the mascara away.

Next, apply your favorite cleansing lotion over your whole face and gently massage it into your skin - especially the areas where you might have some blemishes or blackheads. Massaging helps to loosen the dirt and makeup, making removal from the pores much easier. It also helps to reduce any potential skin problems - like acne. Some cleansers also act as moisturizers.

Once you have finished massaging it into your face, just remove the excess with a washcloth or tissue.

Toner is a wonderful follow up after cleansing your face of all makeup. It's not mandatory, but I really like how toner makes my skin feel. And after I've applied the toner and let it dry, I then use a night cream that is just right for my skin. It's amazing how soft my skin feels when I wake up every morning!

Just remember, that even though you are in the habit of cleansing your face at night, you should also cleanse it again in the mornings. This makes it possible for you to start with a fresh, clean face for you to put on makeup. Plus, your skin will love you for it. You'll have fewer skin problems and a face that glows with health and radiance.
