Is Resveratrol The Fountain Of Youth? Or A French Paradox?

by Brandon Fletcher

Have you ever heard of the French Paradox? It was first used by Dr. Serge Renaud to describe how lucky the French people were to eat such delicious, fatty foods without having a high incidence of heart attacks and heart related problems.

Morley Safer and the crew at 60 Minutes had a show regarding the merits of Resveratrol. The show spoke about the French Paradox and how this miracle supplement called Resveratrol was allowing the French people to sustain healthy lives. It was said to be due to the red wine that the French drink.

After that, sales of red wine shot through the roof as everyone who was interested in staving off heart disease began drinking red wine. However was it just the wine or was there something IN the wine that allowed the French to enjoy their culinary delights without regard for heart attacks?

A main constituent of red wine is Resveratrol. Resveratrol is an anti-biotic that is produced by plants. In this instance the skin of red grapes. Since the revelation on 60 Minutes, Resveratrol sales have boomed. Resveratrol has been noted as a cure or treatment from everything from cancer to anti-aging to positively benefiting those with cardiovascular disease and as a preventive supplement to keep those who may be at risk from developing cardiovascular problems.

Since Resveratrol is found naturally, it is not classified as a drug and is found readily available. But the question everyone wants to know is does it work. Is Resveratrol the miracle supplement that it is made out to be. Well it seems so and millions of people worldwide swear by its benefits without any side effects.

Not to get too involved in the scientific aspect of Resveratrol research, but 3 years ago an Italian study revealed to remedying problems with blood sugar, heart disease, and anti-inflammatory ailments, Resveratrol was found to help with those seeking to lose weight and to delay the aging process. Could it be that Resveratrol is what flows through the Fountain Of Youth?

Resveratrol however, can't be attributed to helping heart disease that develops for reasons outside of the type of diet one has. A University of Pennsylvania doctor, Dr. Paul Rozin has been somewhat emphatic that Resveratrol can't really help with those contributing factors beyond one's diet...not yet anyway.

Heart disease indeed can be brought on by a number of factors that are not related to the diet. Research as to the benefits of Reveratrol in this regard is ongoing.

Dr. Christoph Westphal, who was featured in the 60 Minutes segment, thinks that if the data on Resveratrol continues to underscore the many benefits of Resveratrol then he believes that we all may soon be taking Resveratrol.

Westphal truly believes that Resveratrol has the ability to change how we view health care.

Resveratrol is becoming hugely popular and there are many derivations of it. Our research has determined that res-V may be the most effective form of Resveratrol. Please check out my review of the Res-V supplement on the ConsumerSource website.

Before You Buy Another Probiotic-Read This

by Waldmar Jones

Are you putting up with gas, bloating, and embarrassing bathroom breaks? Have you tried probiotics? Picking the correct strains and the strength is essential for success. If your digestive distress is not addressed it can easily become more serious

Lets take a peek into your digestive system. Your lower stomach and small and large intestines contain armies of friendly bacteria called probiotics. A healthy digestive system contains ample amounts of friendly bacteria that aid in nutrient absorption and help protect the body from harmful bacteria.

You can not live without good bacteria in your digestive system. Did you know they help break down the foods you eat so your body absorbs the nutrients? Did you know they help to eliminate the bad bacteria like e coli and salmonella? Did you know they help keep the lid on fungus, mold, and other pathogens so they cant gain the upper hand and run wild?

Thats why supplementing with a probiotic formula is important as you get older. But it is important to pick one that gives you excellent results. It is important to have the correct species and the correct strains. It should contain a balance of both major species, Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria. It also should contain multiple strains of each of these species.

Read the labels, and youll see many of the supplements out there contain only one or two strains. When you see a formula that combines this many strains you know it is superior. Lactobacillus harnesses Bifidobacterium bifidum Lactobacillus acidophilus Lactobacillus casei Lactobacillus plantarum Lactobacillus salivarius Bifidobacterium longum Streptococccus thermophilus Lactobacillus bulgaricus Lactobacillus paracasei Bifidobacterium infantis

Also look at the labels and make sure they do not contain chemical additives, corn, gluten, MSG, pesticides, soy, fillers or artificial favors.
