Have you been searching the internet trying to find a simple homemade acne treatment? You have? Great! You are going to find many tips and ideas on how to create your own acne treatments right from your own home.

You are going to read about easy to make remedies that can be done in your own kitchen or cheap over-the-counter herbal remedies for curing acne. Why pay tons of money for an acne treatment that can be duplicated for a lot less money and in some cases, free!

To begin, let's explore the details behind the causes of acne. Blotchiness and acne actually comes from a buildup of oil and bacteria which clogs your pores and follicles. Well the simple answer to fix the problem is to clean your skin and pores, which sounds simple...well it is!

Let's start off with a simple homemade clean and scrub. The goal is to get your skin as clean as possible, but wait...it is possible to over-wash your skin. You see, when you over-wash your skin, your skin produces more oil, which in turn clogs your pores. This cycle would be never ending; however, if you use a pH balanced, herbal based gentle wash, your face will not produce excess oil and you will begin to see noticeable results.

But you can't stop there, you need to exfoliate to get rid of any excess dead skin cells and unclog those nasty pores. But how you ask...try making a natural facial scrub with sugar and water OR baking soda and water. Put a little sugar or baking powder in your hand and add a small amount of water until your form a paste. Spread the paste all over your skin once or twice a week and you will begin to notice your skin feels incredible. Also, it will begin to hear any acne scarring. SOME people have sensitive skin, so test a small amount on your skin first.

Let's move on from the scrub into a homemade acne treatment called vinegar tonic. This concoction can be made right in the comfort of your own home and will help reduce any blotchiness or redness you have on your skin. To begin:

Begin with a glass of water

Mix a tablespoon of apple vinegar with the water

Dip a cotton ball into the mixture and massage it onto your face - making sure to cover all your red spots

Try keeping the mixture on as long as possible, for best results, leave on overnight and rinse in the morning

Keep the solution in the refrigerator and use it every night before going to bed. After a few weeks you should notice a reduction in the redness and blotchiness.

How about making a homemade facial mask to treat your acne? It's very easy to make and apply. This mask was designed for dry skin and is called a pineapple honey acne mask.

It is possible to have dry skin and still suffer from acne. This mask was designed to be very helpful for inflamed skin that's dry too. Honey and pineapple both contain natural enzymes that exfoliate dead skin cells and clean the pores without over drying. Honey is also a great oil free moisturizer.

Mash up a cup of pineapple (rinse off the juice)

Add to it 1 tablespoon of honey, then mix

Smooth over clean skin and let it sit for about 20-30 minutes then rinse off well.

Homemade Acne Treatments: Why Not Give Them A Try?

by Felix Schmieder

Acne tends to show up for most people around the same time, usually some time during high school. I was no exception and like everyone else, I tried all sorts of things to get it to go away. Nothing worked, but I wasn't to worried as my parents told me that as I got older, it would go away. They were wrong, unfortunately. My acne hung around and it also got worse.

Naturally, I've always tried out new products. Benzoyl Peroxide, salicylic acid, the proactiv system, none of them worked that well for me. I really started to research this whole acne problem to try and figure out a cure.

What I found was a lot of people were having great success with homemade acne treatments. Who would have though cheap items that you could find around the house would work so well? I was really psyched to try all of them out at the same time.

Thankfully, I reigned in my eagerness a bit and decided to try out the products in a more conventional manner. Some worked great for me and really helped clear up my skin. Others didn't work as well, but I wasn't bothered as much when something didn't work. Why? Because it costs only a few dollars compared to the tens or hundreds of dollars I had wasted before.

On top of not wasting my money anymore, I was also not using harsh chemicals on my face. My skin wasn't always clear, but it stopped being dull and actually looked really good. Ever since I noticed that, I've sworn off conventional medications. They never made me all that clear and they made my skin look like crap on top of it.

After reading this far you probably want some ideas to get you started. There are all sorts of recipes all over the internet. You could try using baking soda as an exfoliate, it helps smooth the skin by clearing out dead skin cells. You could also try egg whites to smooth your skin and use egg yolks to help heal any marks or blemishes you might have.

If these seem a bit off the way, you should try two quick and easy ones that many people have reported with great success. The first is using lemon juice as a cleaner/toner. Lemon juice works very well at clearing out pores. Just clean your face and apply it. Just make sure you mix some water with the lemon juice as a full strength mixture will sting quite a bit.

Another idea is to make an aspirin mask. Just mix 3 tablets with a little bit of water in a cup and apply the paste to your face. You want the mask to be thick so use as little water as possible. After you have applied it, let the mask sit for about 10-15 minutes and then rinse it off. Aspirin is a form of salicylic acid so it will dissolve dead skin cells and will clear out your pores. This is why it works so well
